I’m coming clean — I hide vegetables. I am not strong-willed enough for the thirty minute argument, impressing upon my daughter their nutritional importance. My daughter is not the pickiest eater — I have seen worse in my classroom — but she has been known to say, “What’s this green stuff?” with a profound tone of disgust. I had taken comfort in the sad fact that french fries are, technically, a vegetable until I discovered there was a better way.
