Did you know that one box of eight (8) recycled markers creates enough energy to prepare a breakfast that consists of brewing a pot of coffee, frying an egg and making two pieces of toast? Neither did I, but that is why Crayola is extending their sustainability efforts with their COLORCYLE program.
How the Program Works
At the beginning of the school year, K-12 schools nationwide can visit www.crayola.com/colorcycle to register for the Crayola “COLORCYCLE” marker program. Once signed up, participating schools will have immediate access to the classroom lesson plans, and can begin collecting any used markers. In-school program coordinators will then be able to print out Crayola funded pre-paid FedEx shipping labels for delivery of the collected markers for conversion into usable fuel.
Crayola has always been a big part of our home. In fact, we just stocked up on markers for our new homeschool year and Ali has been having tons of fun using them in her Crayola early learning coloring pad. It makes me SO happy to see them working hard towards their sustainability goals.
I'm sure most of you have already completed your school shopping for the year, but I say you can never have enough markers and with the new COLORCYLE program you can feel even better about stocking up on them. Crayola has generously offered up 5 Packs of Washable markers for me to giveaway to you, my fantastic readers, just enter using the form below!
