Welcome to part three of the That Odd Mom 2015 Holiday Gift Guide. If you missed the first two post on stocking stuffers and gifts for kids, you can find the links, and the link to all of the gift guides at the end of the post.
Let's talk about Christmas Eve. It is secretly prefer it over Christmas morning, because for us, the evening is full of tradition. We cook a delicious rib roast and hand out our gifts to each other. The kids always get a new set of PJ's from us and two other gifts that will either be a game, movie, book or video game. The gifts are personal to the kids, but something the whole family will enjoy together. Then we get to spend the rest of the night cuddling up for movies or playing a game until we convince the kids that they really need to go to bed.
I've kept our holiday tradition in mind when putting together my list of gifts for a family. Except for clothing items, they work well as a gift to the whole group, or as an individual gift that the whole family will enjoy.

"The exciting Pie Face game is filled with fun and suspense, and somebody’s bound to get splatted! Just put some delicious whipped cream from home or the wet sponge on the “hand” of this hilarious game unit and start turning the handles. It could go off at any time, so keep your fingers crossed and hope you’re not the one who gets a splat in the face!"
Toss in some pop-corn and you've got the perfect holiday family movie night! "`Tis The Season for Family Fun - HAPPIER HOLIDAYS! Bonus Extras with each movie, including Elf FOCUS POINTS that take you inside the Making of the Film While You Watch the Movie!"
"The Original Buddha Board gently encourages the user to value the present. You simply paint on the board’s special surface with water; the image darkens and then slowly fades away. It effortlessly brings out the creative side that exists in all of us. The Original Buddha Board comes with a bamboo brush and ‘Japanese style’ water tray / stand."
Apples to Apples

Apples to Apples is always at the top of our family game night list. "To celebrate the 15th birthday of Apples to Apples, the Appleversary Edition has a fancy black and gold look, and is packed with fresh content and exclusive Appleversary scoring golden tokens."

"Pengoloo is as much fun as one of penguins’ favorite pastimes: sliding down icy hills on their bellies! The best part? This charming game works your memory without you even realizing it. (The greatest brain health games are sneaky like that.) Made from high-quality wood, Pengoloo is sure to be enjoyed by generations of family members."
I know you think I've gone from odd to full on crazy train with the price of this gift but it is the ultimate geektastic gift for a Tolkien loving family that they can pass down for generations. "This gorgeous, high-end The Lord of the Rings chess features pewter pieces that bear an incredible likeness of the characters in the film. A map of Middle-earth is mounted below the playing surface."
