I am anticipating my body not liking me very much when this week is over. You see, Ema is turning 10 and already baked a practice chocolate cake this past Saturday because she plans to bake her own cake, Friday, for her birthday. TWO chocolate cakes in one week; I have NO willpower.
Then, to top it off, we will be visiting Kings Dominion on Saturday where I plan to indulge in a big pulled pork sandwich and oh so sweet, oh so good, funnel cake.
Luckily I have a box arriving from Thrive Market soon with some sourdough starter and water kefir grains. I fully plan to boost myself back up with good, real food when all of the celebrating is done.
As for the rest of the week, here is what's on the menu.
Monday - We had tacos with homemade yellow rice and topping bar.
Tuesday - Chicken pot pie from a leftover roast chicken
Wednesday - Broccoli Soup and crusty bread
Thursday - Leftover Buffet
Friday - I'm cooking a Hello Fresh box (for 2 people) for the five of us for the Birthday Dinner! It will be Steak Tagliata with Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges & Watercress Salad, Sugar-Rubbed Pork Chops with Caramelized Root Vegetables and Spring Tortellini Gratin with Basil Pesto & Asparagus. Of course we will be topping it off with the chocolate cake Ema wants to bake and decorate to look like Stampy Cat.
Saturday - Eating at Kings Dominion
Sunday - Spaghetti and Salad
The week isn't completely horrible, we do have a nice stash of apples, pears, grapes, oranges and strawberries to munch on and I still have a bag of Miracle Tree Moringa tea to try that was in my Love with Food box.
