I'm not sure where last week went? I've been busy working, cooking new foods and enjoying our first snow. Since time just seemed to zip by I missed posting my week in review post at the end of the week, so I'm bringing it to you today mashed up with my menu plan Monday post.
In my life this week…
I experimented making new foods; gnocchi and homemade noodles for turkey noodle soup. They both turned out DELICIOUS!!! The gnocchi definitely wasn't pretty, but oh so good. I also made up a big batch of chicken bone broth with ginger, onion, cumin, coriander, lime, turmeric, coconut oil and green pepper paste yesterday. It is uber tasty and a good kick to help out with my sinuses that have been tormenting me.
In our homeschool this week…
Even though in was only 1/2 inch, my Florida kids got to enjoy their first "snow day." They were amazed at the feel, taste and what they could do with it; include making snowballs and sledding. We also studied digestion and nutrition for health, how venom can create cures, the scientific process and the Roanoke Colony.

Amazon Prime is FULL of great educational programming to use a springboards to spark your kids interest in learning about a topic. As I type this, my kids are doing "PE" for the day, an Amazon fitness video, Belly Dancing.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
We headed out to a local Flea/Antique market in King George, VA on Saturday. It was full of lots of fun antiques that we talked about. Ema found a porcelain tea pot that I snagged up for $2.00 and after a good cleaning it will be a perfect addition for poetry tea time Tuesday. We really enjoy the ride over to King George too as their are so many neat old things to see, including a brick school building, homes from the 1700/1800's, the place where John Wilkes Booth was shot and the birthplace of Monroe.
My favorite thing this week was…
Seeing the pure joy, not only on my kids faces, but on my husbands as well, when they got to experience snow for the first time.

Monday - Leftover Spaghetti and Garlic Bread
Tuesday - Rotisserie Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Mixed Veggies
Wednesday - Thai Beef over Rice with Brocolli
Thursday - Turkey and Dumplings and Collard Greens
Friday - Chili and Cornbread
Saturday - Leftover Buffet
Sunday - Beef Roast, Baked Potatoes and Salad
