Book of the Week - Every Natural Fact: Five Seasons of Open-Air Parenting

Author Amy Lou Jenkins decided one day that she needed to get her son out of the house, away from modern day luxuries and just go take a nature walk so that they could have some quality time together. Every Natural Fact: Five Seasons of Open-Air Parenting documents her continual nature walks with her son and how it strengthened their bond. I personally haven’t made it very far into the book due to time constraints, but from what I’ve read so far I must say that if you are a home school mom that believes in nature study in any form or fashion, you will relate to this book and begin to realize how nature study expands beyond education and into parenting with ease.

The Book

From the Author:

“Every Natural Fact: Five Seasons Of Open-Air Parenting is a narrative of mother-and-son nature outings. In a style that blends the voices of Janisse Ray and Annie Dillard, a mother and son explore parallels in the world of people and nature. These explorations of natural history, flora and fauna, and parenting themes demonstrate that the mythic thread that winds through everything can still be found, even in a world of wounds.”

Every Natural Fact: Five Seasons of Open-Air Parenting is also a 2011 Reader Views: Reviewers Choice Award winner.
