Backyard Hacks To Reduce Mosquito Population

June 21 - 27 is National Mosquito Control Awareness Week and the folks at Mosquito Squad, along with Jason Cameron, have teamed up to help keep your family comfortable and bite free.

We don't have as BIG of a problem with mosquitoes in Virginia as we did in Florida, we do still get visits from the pesky little buggers and I'd rather NOT! So, when I came across these great tips from the Mosquito Squad, I just had to share them with you. First though, Cameron's top hack for fighting the little blood suckers...walk your yard.

Mosquitoes breed in standing water and water can accumulate in virtually every nook of a backyard, whether it’s a small yard or a McMansion, if you’re not out in the yard seeing what’s out there, and keeping it clean, you’re asking for mosquitoes to breed.
— Jason Cameron

Cameron encourages homeowners to get up close and personal in their yards with the following hacks to reduce and eliminate mosquito breeding. We do most of these already, but they are a great reminder to make sure you can enjoy your yard in the warmer months.

This is not a sponsored post, I was not compensated in any form. I am simply sharing because I'm almost convinced mosquitoes are the spawn of Satan or the very least, Justin Beiber.
