Menu Plan Monday - Reigning in the Food Budget

So, I recently came to the realization that we spend WAY more a month on groceries than families similar in size and situation to ourselves. Even though I have already cut back by at least $300 since cutting out most processed foods, I still want to reign in the food budget a little more and that means getting creative and stretching foods. This menu is the start of that creativity.

Breakfast

  • oatmeal
  • grits
  • homemade chocolate granola
  • pancakes
  • eggs
  • turkey bacon
  • homemade pork sausage
  • toast
  • fruit
  • cinnamon bread

Lunch

  • leftovers
  • turkey sandwiches
  • salad
  • soup
  • PB and or Jelly sandwiches
  • Egg salad

Dinner

Monday - Chicken Noodle Soup 

Tuesday - Tuna Casserole and broccoli 

Wednesday -  Breakfast for dinner, spinach quiche, pancakes and sausage

Thursday - Spaghetti and Salad

Friday - Leftover Buffet

Saturday - Baked Chicken, rice and salad

Sunday - Italian wedding soup and crusty bread

 

What I prepped ahead of time

Croutons for the salad

Baked tortilla chips

Cinnamon bread

Cream of mushroom soup for the casserole

Egg salad
