Menu Plan Monday: Seven Meals All for Saturday

Transient

It has been a long time since I linked up to Menu Plan Monday and not because I was too busy to write a post. Rather, because I have been a real slacker in household planning department for some time now. I actually made a menu this week though, for the first time in a LONG time and put it on the fridge for all to see last night. The kids enthusiasm over getting to see what they were going to eat all week kind of threw me for a loop.

That isn’t the menu I want to share with you though. Instead, I am sharing a special menu I have planned just for Saturday, for Hobbit Day. We are big fans of Lord of the Rings in this house and Tolkien in general and have been pumped up for the release of the Hobbit movie for some time now. Needless to say, I couldn’t wait to plan out a seven meal feast for Saturday to celebrate the occasion.

Check it Out!

Breakfast at 7:00 am

I’ll be serving up some old fashioned oatmeal with a variety of local honey and fresh berries to choose from for toppers. I’ll be sure to have a nice hot pot of coffee ready with some Pumpkin Pie Torani too.

Second Breakfast at 9:00 am

Will be hearty omelets full of mushrooms and onions and topped with cheese seved up with some orange juice.

Elevensies at 11:00 am

Time for some fresh baked biscuits and jam along with some more coffee.

Afternoon Tea at 3:00 pm

Some small seed cakes and honey cakes along with some hot tea.

Supper at 7:00 pm

If I’m not in a food coma at this point, we will be indulging on pork pies and homemade peach sorbet for dessert.

Luncheon at 1:00 pm

I’m going to set out a platter of fresh baked breads, lunch meat, pickles and brie and pop open a bottle of wine.

Dinner at 5:00 pm

A nice hot fall vegetable stew with some beer for the hubs and a hard apple cider for me.

We may end up with a TON of leftovers and my family may think I’m even odder than usual, but I am thoroughly looking forward to this indulgence in a day of fantasy as we eat to our hearts desire and settle in for marathon viewing of the Lord of the Rings series. My only issue for the day will be if my kids STILL ask for a snack between meals. Then, I will finally know, that they truly are bottomless pits!

Thanks for taking a peek at my menu plan for seven meals for Hobbit Day. For some more traditional menus, head over to I’m an Organizing Junkie and check out all of the other blogs linked up for Menu Plan Monday. But before you go, tell me . . . .
