Review: Culinary Grade Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder
I've been on a mission to try new things in 2015, particularly in regards to my health. As much as I love my morning coffee, I'm also a HUGE tea fan. I have so many varieties in my home that I break depending on my mood or energy level. At least half of my stash is some form of green tea, so I was intrigued by Matcha, a concentrated green tea powder.
What Is Matcha?
If you are anything like me you're probably wondering what in the heck matcha is. Even though green tea is my favorite, I had never heard of it. I found my answer thanks to the good folks over at Wikipedia and behold, matcha, a fancy word for green tea powder.
Kiss Me Organics Culinary Grade Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder
Shipped in airtight bag, reminisent of my favorite coffee deliveries, Kiss Me Organics matcha is described as
"100% organic, tested for purity, and contains more than 137x the antioxidants found in a cup of brewed tea. Our customers use it in everything from smoothies, to baking, to mixed drinks, and even.... the most popular - plain water.
The home of our Organic Matcha is now located in Shizuoka, Japan, within a tea region recognized by the United Nations as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System.
Harvested from a family-run tea farm in operation since 1915. Our farm has been certified organic since 2000, synthetic chemical free since 1994, and reduced chemical usage since 1975. Now you can enjoy great quality Matcha
from the place it all began - Japan."
What Did I Think?
My shipment of organic matcha came with a free 70+ page recipe and guide ebook that was full of fun ideas for baked goods, smoothies and more, but honestly, I'm not that brave yet. Plus, like I said, I'm a big green tea fan.
I have enjoyed my matcha the simple way; mixed with some piping hot water, a dash of cinnamon and a teaspoon of raw honey. It had such a vibrant green color and taste that I already love, amplified. It is a nice pick-me-up in the afternoon, when I try to avoid coffee.
When I do get brave enough to try out a new recipe and toss some matcha into the mix, I'm thinking of an orange-matcha cake with strawberry cream cheese icing. Can you say YUM!
About Kiss Me Organics
"It is important to us and our customers to fill our plates and our cupboards with as many organically produced products as we can. In a significant way, this is the only way to guarantee we are receiving the minerals and nutrients that nature intended.
At Kiss Me Organics we have taken our sourcing a step further as tea plants will absorb toxic elements from its environment and pass those along to you in greater concentrations than if you were just drinking the brew. So the first step in choosing an appropriate Matcha for your day-to-day is to ensure that it has been certified organic.
This means that harmful fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides have not been dumped on the plants – and thus will not make it into your body.
Unfortunately, sometimes simply choosing an organic Matcha is not enough. Many farms are still exposed to industrial pollution because of their geographic location. Polluted rain water, toxic runoff in the soil, and noxious gasses from nearby plants are just a few of the ways that an organic tea farm could still be exposed to unsafe levels of toxins. The only way to ensure that you’re getting the safest product available is to choose a vendor who has lab-tested their leaves. We tested tea samples from several organic farms to ensure that we’re bringing you the purest tea products available.
At KissMeOrganics.com we want to help our customers discovery the purity and the power of natural ingredients."
If you want to give matcha a try, Kiss Me Organics is sold exclusively on Amazon. Check it out and let me know what you think.
